Joe joined RBA at the beginning of 2018, following on from his PhD at the University of Surrey.
During his first year with RBA he completed the IOA Diploma in order to further his knowledge in Acoustics for industrial applications. He is a Member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA) and an ANC registered tester.
Joe works on a wide array of projects, including residential, temporary accommodation, office, gyms, medical centres, and more. He continues to work with clients and design teams on all aspects of the project relevant to acoustics, from planning stage through to completion. He has developed his skills within RBA to be able to provide input on environmental impact and planning assessments and provide Noise and Vibration chapters for Environmental Statements. This is in addition to providing detailed acoustic design guidance throughout the development of a project.
He is part of the internal working group on Acoustics and Overheating, which is a particularly lively subject with the release and application of the new Approved Document O. In addition, he has a keen interest and knowledge base in the assessment of groundborne noise and vibration, particularly due to rail sources.
