Helen graduated from Salford University in 2002 with a BSc in Physics with Acoustics, and has worked in building acoustics ever since.
She has a particular specialism in the acoustic design of residential buildings. She spent 9 years working in London and the South East before relocating to Manchester in 2011, and joined RBA’s Manchester office in 2017.
During this time, Helen has advised on numerous high profile residential developments, offices, hotels, education and research institutes, mixed use developments, and performance spaces.
She has also advised on vibration isolation to high vibration workshops and sensitive laboratory areas. These projects have mainly been located in the UK, but also in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
She is a Chartered Engineer, and actively promotes acoustics as a STEM subject, speaking in schools and universities as well as working with Women in Science and Engineering and the Women’s Engineering Society.
