RBA Acoustics

Westminster City Council Air Source Heat Pumps

Project Overview

RBA Acoustics have been working with Vital Energi and Westminster City Council as part of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS). The ambitious target is to become a net zero council by 2030 and a net zero city by 2040. RBA have been assessing the acoustic impact of Air-Source Heat Pumps proposed to replace carbon-producing plant in public sector buildings city-wide.

The PSDS in Westminster encompasses a wide range of public sector buildings including offices, education buildings, healthcare buildings, leisure centres, libraries and other civic buildings. Each site requires assessment of the potential for noise to affect nearby noise-sensitive premises. RBA Acoustics have conducted environmental noise surveys throughout the City of Westminster in order to set suitable noise limits in line with Local Authority requirements. ASHPs are becoming an increasingly attractive option for heat generation as the national focus shifts towards renewable and greener energy. RBA Acoustics are working on numerous projects using this technology across the public and private sector.
