RBA Acoustics

Petrus Restaurant

Project Overview

After closing it's doors at The Berkley Hotel in London two years previous, Gordon Ramsay re-opened Petrus on Kinnerton Street, Knightsbridge. The restaurant houses a huge wine cellar containing over 2000 bottles and is located in a newly built residential block.

The landlord for the building had outlined a number of operating requirements for the restaurant to ensure the residential occupants directly above the premises were not affected by noise transfer from the restaurant activities.

RBA were appointed as acoustic consultants for the project to provide a design solution to prevent any noise issues and worked closely with the landlord’s consultant to ensure the most cost effective acoustic/sound insulation solution could be achieved whilst maintaining compliance with the high performance requirements.

The restaurant opened in early 2010 and has proved to be a successful addition to the Gordon Ramsay fine dining group.
