RBA Acoustics

Lucky Voice

Project Overview

Lucky Voice is a Tokyo inspired chain of karaoke clubs that allows friends to hire private booths by the hour. The club's Soho branch in London wished to make an application to extend their licensing hours.

RBA were appointed to provide acoustic consultancy and undertake a detailed acoustic assessment, (a requirement of the application) as the venue is situated in Westminster City Council’s Central Activity Zone and Stress Area.

Due to the activity already taking place at the venue, the building fabric had been designed so that there is no audible noise break-out. RBA’s assessment was focused on considering noise from patrons leaving the venue and from the mechanical plant serving the premises.

The results of both assessments indicated only a marginal increase in noise would be expected as a result of extended opening hours and the application was granted to the client.
