Project Overview
Barrhead Health and Social Care Centre is one of a new generation of NHS centres that act as hubs for all local health and social care services. Serving a community of 25,000 residents, the centre comprises three GP and two dental practices and is also home to physiotherapy, podiatry and psychiatric services, as well as health visitor and district nursing teams.

RBA undertook detailed modelling of the large public areas in order to investigate architectural options and building acoustics.
RBA specified noise mitigation measures for the control of building services plant noise and provided advice on the design of internal partitioning (sound proofing and insulation) to ensure rooms provided patient confidentiality.
Based in Glasgow, the Barrhead Health and Social Care centre went on to win the Scottish Design Awards 2012 – Winner for Best Public Building, Better Healthcare 2012 – Winner for Best Out of Hospital Care Facility Design.
