Project Overview
One Sloane Gardens is a high-end boutique hotel, located in the heart of Sloane Square in Chelsea, London. The hotel itself has been formed following the reconfiguration and state-of-the-art refurbishment of the original 19th Century mansion. The refurbishment process also included the retention of the original façade. The completed hotel includes 30 opulent guestrooms over six floors, a bar at lower ground level and restaurant on the top floor.

RBA Acoustics collaborated with longstanding client, Cadogan Estates, on this project. Early in the construction stage, we worked with the Design Team (ReardonSmith Architects and Capital & Provincial Project Managers) to develop acoustic performance standards to reflect the premium nature of the scheme. The novel refurbishment approach and high-end internal acoustic requirements meant there were multiple interfaces to consider and detail. The bespoke nature of the interiors and centrality of the audio systems to the hotel “experience” meant extensive input was required ensure the required standards of acoustic separation could be achieved and maintained. We also assisted the main contractors to develop and manage a suitable noise and vibration monitoring scheme during the main demolition and construction phases of the project to ensure the neighbours were suitably protected.
This is an iconic project in the heart of Sloane Square.
