The Great Howard Street Bridge between Liverpool and Sefton supports Great Howard Street and the adjacent tunnel. The bridge recently failed the last structural assessment and is therefore being replaced.
As part of the demolition and construction works, we are undertaking noise and vibration monitoring at the site boundaries to monitor and record noise and vibration levels throughout the process.
The equipment which has been deployed allows continuous real-time access to measured data, and is powered by battery due to constraints on-site. To satisfy the requirements of the project, particle displacement and velocity are being measured at each location simultaneously, as well as average and maximum noise levels.
