RBA were delighted to be presented with two prizes at the recent ANC acoustics awards held in Birmingham. First was a Commendation for our work on the Flat Iron Square project in Southwark.
The RBA team were also awarded the Institute of Acoustics’ Peter Lord Award for our work on the Queen Street scheme. The Peter Lord Award is awarded for a building, project or product that showcases outstanding and innovative acoustic design. Director Torben Andersen, who led the RBA team on the project, was presented with the award by IOA President, Jo Webb.
Peter Lord, a former IOA President who died in 2012, was a hugely influential figure in UK acoustics, being a driving force behind the setting up of the Institute, founder of the Applied Acoustics department at the University of Salford and first editor-in-chief of Applied Acoustics.
