Environmental Impact & Assessment

The impact of noise and vibration forms an integral part of a planning application, either as a standalone assessment or as part of a much more comprehensive Environmental Statement.  In either case the principles involved in the assessment remain the same; the proposed situation is compared against the existing and the impact rated accordingly.

Detailed knowledge of Planning Policy Guidance, British and International Standards and Local / Unitary Development Plans is important so as to provide an assessment appropriate to the scheme.

Having undertaken environmental impact assessments on behalf of both Local Authorities and developers, we have a unique understanding of the requirements and the responsibilities of both.  This allows us to provide the most accurate advice regarding potential impacts associated with a scheme, developing mitigation measures to enable development to progress without causing unnecessary disturbance.

We have been involved with noise and vibration impacts for schemes and noise sources including rail freight, residential development, hospitals, licensed premises, transportation and industrial estates; providing expert witness representation at numerous hearings.
