RBA appreciate the many considerations relating to the acoustic design and assessment of places of worship. Our experience includes the successful discharge of planning conditions attached to new religious buildings, troubleshooting at existing churches so as to improve sound insulation and the internal architectural design for optimum acoustic conditions within.
As part of the re-development of St Joseph’s Hospice at Mare Street, Hackney, RBA were initially appointed to assist with the planning application for the construction of a convent comprising residential accommodation, amenity spaces and a chapel. Following planning approval, this brief was then expanded to include detailed design works associated with the control of external noise intrusion and sound transfer between each individual area.
